How To Find The Right Web Hosting Company
October 16, 2008

Anyone who is considering launching a web site will likely need to look into the web hosting industry to accomplish their goals. Unless a person or business has servers that are capable of publishing to the Internet while also handling inbound traffic, web hosting is a necessity.
But what is a web hosting company and how does someone find the best options?
A web hosting company is simply one that enables clients, both individuals and corporations, to have their files stored on its computer servers. The company basically acts as a middle man, or a portal, to the World Wide Web.
While all web hosting companies provide server space as a general rule of thumb, not all service providers offer the same options. Some companies will provide what’s considered a fairly well-rounded service, while others just offer the space.
If you’re looking for a full service web hosting company, you’ll want to look for the following options:
* A full service web hosting company start at the very beginning by assisting clients in obtaining a URL address. This is the Internet address that typically begins with www, giving a site a distinct name on the web. Good, full service companies will offer help in finding a name and getting it paid for and registered.
* Web hosting companies that offer full services also provide help in creating the actual site. This can mean design services for full site construction, programs that make the work easy for clients or both.
* Ongoing support. Good web hosting companies will give their clients assistance not only in creating their sites, but also in maintaining and adding on to them. After the site’s up and running, additions might need to be made, new pages added and so on.
* Good customer service support. This is a vital aspect for a beginner to web publishing. If you can’t raise help over the phone or via online chat when you need it, a web hosting company might not be the one for you.
Creating an online presence is an important consideration for individuals and businesses. Anyone who wants to market their services or products, or even stay in touch with friends and family, can benefit from having a web site. Very often a web hosting company will be required to make this happen. Good companies provide a variety of services that make getting a site up and running a very easy proposition.

Website owners, have you considered joining a web hosting affiliate program to bring in a new profit stream to your website?
If you currently host a website, joining a web hosting affiliate program can make you significant money when used intelligently, plus you can easily recoup the costs of bandwidth and server space. Web hosting affiliate programs are easy and free to join – all it takes is a few referrals in order to bring in new income.
There are also companies such as WebmasterFX and TemplateMonster which offer affiliate programs for a very similar market, in this case marketing tools and design templates for webmasters. Offering your visitors a range of related goods and services is likely to increase your total referal commissions.
If you’re happy with your current domain and hosting provider, ask them about their web hosting affiliate program. Often times, customer referrals can bring between $50 and $100 for each customer that signs up to your own provider’s hosting service.
Many web hosts offer a web hosting affiliate program that pays a percentage of the sales made when customer you refer sign up for their services. This could be a recurring monthly, quarterly or annual repeat payment. Most web hosting affiliate programs will send payments via check or send them directly to your bank account or even your Paypal account if you have one. You may have to wait until you have earned a certain amount. This could be as low as $50 or as high as $150 depending on the company policy. Imagine the income after making a few referal each week!
The Yahoo! Small Business Affiliate Program is a good example of a well paying program(http://www.yahoo.com). Businesses currently using the Yahoo! Web hosting servcie can earn anywhere from $60 to $100 per customer referral. For customer referrals resulting in Yahoo! Domains sales, you will earn up to 20% of the sale price.
Another example of a web hosting affiliate program is through WestHost (http://www.westhost.com). They offer a unique web hosting affiliate program that provides $50 in a customer referral resulting in sales for not just existing WestHost clients but anyone who provides a WestHost approved link to the merchant on their website.
A slightly different kind of web hosting affiliate program is provided by ServerFly (http://www.serverfly.com). While ServerFly provides significantly lower cuts in customer referrals, it offers a five-tiered program. With a tiered program, you have the potential of earning profits from the customer referrals that come from your customer referrals! So in this caes you are sacrificing initial income for the potential of much greater income later on.
Web hosting affiliate programs are easy to join ? just fill out an online form and put an approved link on your existing website. You could also add a link in your emails and use them in discussion forum signatures. Of course if the program is lucrative enough it may be worth trying some paid advertising to speed up results.
Look for a program with a large range of promotion material such as banners and text links to place on your site, and you’ll be on your way to making profits through a new revenue stream in just minutes!

I don’t know about you but I have been in this situation more than once. You sit by your desk and get an idea of a website that you would like to build. Maybe it’s just a personal or family website or maybe it is a business website. It doesn’t really matter as both are sites that you would like to have online fast and be able to access where ever when ever.
So after building your content (or some of it) and deciding on what domain you think would fit your website then you come to on of the tasks that I have personally had a lot of difficulties in dealing with. That is the choice of the company to host your new website.
If you are completely new to this then I suggest that you go visit Google and try searching for “web hosting”. At the time of this article there are 214 million pages competing for the term. So how are you supposed to pick the right one? Well at first I didn’t have a clue my self.
One option would be to go through the first ten or twenty web hosts and pick the one that you feel has the solution you are looking for. But what if two or more of them offer the same solution? Do you go for the lowest price, the best service or is it something else that will trigger the decision?
Luckily there is some clever people that has already found out that this is more than the average person can cope with and they have therefore create the site called FindMyHosting.com. When I first started building websites I didn’t know of this site but boy it would have save me a lot of time looking for the right host.
At first the site might look a bit confusing because of all the information gathered in one place. However if you focus on the middle section of the site you will quickly find that they have a searc option where you can choose between Country, Monthly Price, Hosting Platform, Disk Space, Data Transfer Limits and Number of E-mail accounts.
This is basic stuff for the experienced website builder, but if you are one of those I’m sure you already have a favorite web host and then you don’t need to go look for a new one. But as a newbie the basic stuff is mostly more that enough to make a fair choice of a new web hosting solution.
If you are on a low budget you can find hosting solutions down to $1.50 a month. Companies like InMotion Hosting and 3Essentials offer hosting solutions for $1.50 a month with about 1GB of storage space, 10GB of traffic, 15 e-mail accounts etc. Now this seems like great solutions for a new person launching a website.
BUT… before you make the final choice of web hosting company you must take some time to search the internet for information about this company and their solutions. Use Google to find out what other people think of their solutions, their support and their general business ethics.
Personally I would never choose a host based solely on price. Make sure you go with a web host that other people have had good experiences dealing with. If you can find any positive comments or even any comments I suggest that you move on to the next one. It might be a new company and who knows whether they will be here in one or two years?

The problem with free web hosting plans
May 15, 2008
In my opinion, free web hosting is one of the most misunderstood concepts on the web
today. Free web hosting plans are becoming increasingly popular as new webmasters
bite into the idea without actually analyzing the consequences. I myself spent many
years, at the start of my webmaster career, using free web hosting plans. This
experience has giving me an insight into the down-side of free web hosting plans
that many people seem to miss.
Would Coke promote Pepsi on their website?
Although the rhetorical question above seems ludicrous, this concept is one of the
fundamental problems with free web hosting plans. Forced advertising is the way that
hosting companies can afford to provide free hosting. Whether it be through
pop-ups, pop-unders, headline ads, or implanted adsense you will be hosting
advertisements on your website that generate revenue for your hosting company whether
you like it or not. Not only is this annoying it can also ruin the look of your page;
the majority of the time you cannot control what the ads look like or where they go,
they are simply dropped down onto your site and there is nothing you can do.
Traffic Jams
The bottom line in web hosting is that bandwidth (data transfer) costs money and if
your plan is free it is most likely your bandwidth will be limited. Too many times I
have attempted to access a web site hosted on a free server and been given the message:
This user has acceded their bandwidth limits, please try again next month. As a
webmaster this can be infuriating. Imagine building a solid page, marketing it,
gaining an audience, and then losing that audience because your page is not allowed
anymore hits for the month.
SEO woes
This is a problem that caused me a ton of frustration, but in the end taught mea lot
about how search engines work and how search engines handle name resolution. In almost
every case free web hosting plans do not allow you to point a domain name
(www.yoursite.com) to an actual page. Instead you are forced to use a concept called
URL redirection. URL redirection allows a webmaster to identify a site that the URL
should point to. So if a user types in www.example.com and we have configured it to
redirect to www.freehost/users/mysite.html it will end up on that page. This does not
seem like much of an issue until you begin trying to get your website indexed in the
search engines. So you submit your site (www.example.com) to some directories and you
ake some good link partners and then you start to wonder, why am I not being listed in
the SEs? I have 100 solid back links pointing to www.example.com, what is happening.
The problem is that www.example.com has no data, it has no content, it simply redirects
to your actual page at www.freehost/users/mysite.html. SEs not only will not index a
page with no data or content but they may even view this as an attempt to fool their
algorithm, thus banning your domain name. The only work around is to forget the domain
name and optimize for your free hosting address, which is not really an acceptable work
around.
But wait!
Although I am a strong believer that free web hosting is not the way to go it is
possible to find a free web host that works for you. There are some out there that do
not force advertising, do not limit your bandwidth, and will allow pointed domains.
The problem is finding one that does all three. If you are a serious, or even only
slightly serious, webmaster take the hit and pay the money for web hosting. In the end
you can get an awesome web hosting plan for as low as $5.95 a month, and trust me this
will be WELL worth the money.

Web Hosting Geeks: Finding the Best Hosting Service
May 15, 2008
Finding the best hosting service for your website can be complicated. There are almost endless options all clamoring to be the top hosts or the least expensive service, and this can make it almost impossible for webmasters to sort fact from fiction. The best way to select a quality web host is to take the selection process one step at a time:
Assess Your Needs The very first item to address in selecting the best hosting service for your needs is to actually identify what those needs are. What sort of website are looking to host? Small personal homepages will have very different hosting criteria from large company websites. To find the best hosting service for you, it is important to determine exactly what you plan to host now, and ideally take into consideration anything you are planning to host in the immediate future.
Rate Different hosting companies offer a large variety of rates. Companies offering dedicated servers will be substantially higher than others offering budget hosting with limited bandwidth. Competition from overseas is priced temptingly low for many, but there are many factors to consider. Don’t stop at price, and if you plan on using your website in a professional capacity, it is important to move beyond free web hosting. Free hosts are great for small family or fun sites, but are not suited to the needs of internet marketers – even those just starting out. Rate should not be a top determining factor until you have narrowed a list based on other criteria such as:
Reliability and Speed The best hosting services will offer uptime of over 99%. This should be a guarantee to motivate the company to keep all servers up all the time. Of course, visitors should also be able to access your site quickly.
Data Transfer and Disk Space Bandwidth requirements grow with your site. Web hosting companies pay for bandwidth, so you, the one using that bandwidth will be billed accordingly. It is far better to pay for the required amount of data transfer upfront rather than get a surprise bill in the mail for having gone considerably over your allotted amount. By the same token, be sure you have an appropriate amount of disk space reserved. Most websites require less than 3GB.
Technical Support It is very important to be able to reach the hosting company if your website begins experiencing problems. The best hosting support one can hope for is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Most companies know this, so take their stated hours with a grain of salt. Always spot check the companies with email at random times to see if they really have someone available to help 24/7.
Scripts and Special Features Different websites have different needs, and the best hosting service for you should accommodate those needs. Email addresses should be standard as well as the capacity for a variety of scripts. Be sure to see if other features like shopping carts and secure servers are available or standard.
Control Panel How much control does the hosting company offer webmasters? It is inconvenient to work through customer service every time to modify a password or to change email addresses. Be sure hosting companies offer some form of a control panel accompanying hosting.

Shared, Virtual, and Dedicated Web Hosting – What Are The Differences?
May 14, 2008
Before committing to a web hosting plan it’s important to understand the differences between the most popular types: shared hosting, “real” dedicated hosting, and “virtual” dedicated hosting.
Shared Hosting
Shared web hosting makes it possible for hundreds or even thousands of users to host their sites very cost-effectively. However, there are a few drawbacks.
Because so many web sites are hosted on the same physical server each site must share that server’s resources. These resources include bandwidth, disk space, memory, and CPU usage to name a few. The need to share resources is rarely a problem for small and medium size web sites.
The biggest limitation with shared hosting, therefore, is that you cannot control any of the system-level software such as mail servers, http servers, et. al. You also are not able to choose your own operating system, compile programs, or perform other administrative activities such as installing firewalls and spam filters.
Real Dedicated Hosting
“Real” dedicated web hosting, on the other hand, solves all the problems with shared web hosting, but at a significant cost. With real dedicated hosting you have exclusive use of an entire server: all the memory, all the disk space, all the CPU horsepower.
Therefore, no other web sites’ problems, glitches, or whatever, will have any effect on your web site. You have total control over the server, its resources, and its administrative functions.
This is the ideal web hosting solution but it isn’t cheap. You have to pay for an entire server with no one else to share common expenses. So, typically, a “real” dedicated hosting plan will cost a minimum of $100 per month and goes up from there. And, unless you opt for managed hosting which is even more expensive, you have to do all the technical server administration yourself.
You run your business. I’ll run mine.
The fact is that most web site owners don’t need total control of their servers as they simply want to run their businesses. They have neither the interest nor the ability to perform all the technical tasks associated with a fully dedicated server and are more than happy to let their shared web hosting provider handle them.
However, when an online business begins to ramp up its transaction volumes, expand its product line to a large number of online offerings, or simply needs more control over its environment, there is a very cost effective alternative to a fully dedicated server.
Virtual Dedicated Hosting
Virtual Dedicated hosting, also known as virtual dedicated server, or VDS, is the term for a physical server which, by means of software, has been partitioned into a number of “virtual” machines operating independently of each other as if they were standalone dedicated servers.

WARNING : Hosting Your Site
May 14, 2008
During the experience of 5 years of serving customers in hosting, its necessary to lay down some warning factors to beginners or even experienced webmasters on choosing their hosting account so that they can have smooth running of their sites at all times.
Day by day the prices for hosting are dropping significantly. The reason behind it is competition. The main server is shared amongst many customers like you. This is normal practice. But what happens if all these accounts have heavy traffic, it will result in slowing down of opening your web page. To take precaution, you can ask the reseller the following or alike questions before purchasing your hosting account.
How many accounts you have on a single server? What will happen when the traffic is heavy? Will it result in crash down of server?
You can ask alike questions and get satisfied before purchasing your new hosting.
The next thing is research about the reseller who is offering you the hosting.
You have to go through the reseller for hosting. As reseller offers more discounts than the rates given by the original server hosting packages. This is because the reseller is paying a fixed amount for shared hosting and host as many sites as she wants in most of the cases. So she can offer you good amount of discount on original server rates.
Do not get mixed with reseller with affiliates. Affiliate is only joined the hosting server site free of charge and marketing the site at its original hosting plan rates. Affiliate cannot offer any discount in original plans. In case of reseller, she is paying some fixed amount every month to use the sharing part of the server.
But the reseller who has less experience in selling hosting might create more problems than to good to your account.
So what to do in this case? Simple. You can ask server related questions to ask the server information to the reseller. If you do not understand what she explained, then ask again asking her specific topics or questions what you did not understand.
If you get satisfactory answers from the reseller and that too in a simple language which you understand, you are one step ahead with this reseller.
This is the first part you have to look before you purchase new hosting. In next few days, we will look for more parts on the same directory. If you have any doubt or questions, please ask it here http://www.zeesales.com/hosting/support.php

Why Do You Want A Good Web Design and Hosting On A Good Server…?
May 14, 2008
The answer is very simple for this question. Because a good web design attracts user and some time visitor loves the design and bookmark the same site for future visits or for future reference or might be interested in making the same web design for his clients or might be possible he/she will edit the same design. But this is true that your website must have a good design. Not only to attract the internet visitor but also helps in browsing the products & services, so that visitor can reach to the destination with the minimum number of clicks.
Web Designing – While audience creation, advertising and promotions drive traffic to a site, it’s the design that either encourages visitors to explore or drives them away in frustration. A good design is, of course, aesthetically pleasing. More importantly, though, it engages visitors, makes it easy for them to navigate the site and compels them to explore the site further, purchase products and return another day. Attractive graphics that support the company’s message are important. But large graphics that take a long time to load frustrate users. Many visitors won’t wait long enough for the graphic to finish loading. Additionally, visitors are less likely to return to a site that has cumbersome or confusing navigational cues. Selection of a Web Designing Company is always a big game as far as your online business is concern. Web design differs significantly from design for other media. The most important difference is that the Web is interactive, incorporating hyperlinks and devices for immediate visitor feedback. Some sophisticated designs include dynamically generated pages that are custom-tailored to each visitor’s interests, preferences and buying habits. To implement effective designs, our team of web designers and implementers has sufficient technical skills such as HTML coding, scripting and programming in addition to artistic skills. As the navigation reveals the structure and organization of the web site, It should provide a consistence and predictable way to find and focus on the information you want in the smallest possible number of clicks.
Web Site Development
When it comes to the website development, your Web Designing Firm must understand your business requirement and type of business or services you are offering to your customers. The quality of your services and the cost of the services or products. A good web design company can increase your web site traffic by offering a user friendly navigation in the web pages that facilitates user in finding the services & products. And once if user ready to purchase something from your website, my personal experience is, he bookmark the site. But only condition is he/she must got the best deal from your side. developing the web pages is might be a small task but arrangement or the content and intralinking of the web pages is always a important point. A Web Development Company first creates a complete rough website structure and then proceeds for the final structure which would be the best in nature with the design, pages, content arrangement, link color, and link names, CSS in the site, the color combinations and the use of the images. There is no question that when it comes to fast and efficient display of graphics on Web Pages, smaller is better. Techniques optimizing the color depth of the Web – friendly GIF and JPEG images for the fast download and applying simple height and width HTML tags are the secrets of our greatest site design. There are certain factors that search engines do not like. While keeping those factors into consideration, we will create an extremely search engines friendly website. The secret of great page design is to create a page grid, build tables, work with color and use type. Innovation & focus on the target visitor drives our creative team to custom design each site with a right combination of text layout, fonts, colors, backgrounds, pictures, animation’s, icons & bars. At UWS India we do not just develop web pages; rather we nurture your dreams into your website.
Web Hosting
Web hosting is like a supporting hand when it comes to any online business through a website. An excellent web server supports your website in term of web site speed, performance, executing queries, database queries sent by you or your potential customers, enquiry management with its security and best performance with maximum uptime. At any point of time if you or your visitor looks for your site or click on your site link form any location in the world, a good web server returns the response immediately that helps user to browse the site and choose the product & services he/she want. The identities of a good web server are… It must respond to each & every request sent to the server, minimum or limited domains hosted, updated with all new available features and all those features your site requires, security of the website and your database, maximum uptime, and all. You may choose a cheap hosting from any vendor if you are new in the online business through website but if you are a professional, you would not like your site to host on a discounted server with approx 2000 domain hosted or with bad performance. A good Web hosting Company can solve your this downtime, security, features, and performance problems.

Reseller Hosting
May 14, 2008
AUTHOR NAME: Ameet Arurkar
Reseller web hosting can be low cost way to earn high profits online. Reseller hosting programs will allow users to lease their servers, bandwidth, and connections while branding the goods as their own. Most large hosting companies today resell their products from larger firms because it reduces the cost of equipment and other fees. Resellers act outside of the control of hosting companies, and are not considered to be employees.
Many resellers are similar to affiliates, and are paid based on how many customers they sign up every month. The difference between affiliate programs and cheap reseller hosting services is that resellers continue to be paid each month for every client they sign up, whereas affiliate programs are generally paid a one time commission. The first thing you will want to do if you plan on becoming a reseller is to decide what products or services you want to sell.
If you are interested in web hosting, most aspects of this service can be resold. Products for web hosting include servers, connections, and e-commerce stores. Most hosting companies like to allow resellers to handle as much as possible so they can concentrate on running the business. Many of these hosting firms will also provide consultation to resellers. Cheap reseller hosting is a profitable business model for those who understand it. Once you’ve decided what products you want to sell, the next thing you want to do is choose the right reseller hosting company.
There are thousands of reseller programs online, and it is best to go with companies which are established. Free Resellers is a forum located at www.freeresellers.com, and has useful information about reseller hosting services. You want to choose a company which has a good track record. Even if the company promises to pay you high commisions, it is better to go with established companies. These firms have experience dealing with products and clients.
Once you’ve setup your reseller program, you will want to attract customers. If you are starting your first reseller hosting business, it may be a good idea to start with clients who are working on a smaller budget. Many of these clients will not require high end services, and your products can be tailored towards them. When you are just starting out, you don’t want to overextend yourself. If you plan on running a larger company, targeting upscale clients would be a good idea.
Cheap reseller hosting services are a good model for those who understand them. They allow you to run a hosting company without the costs which are involved with owning your own server and maintaining an e-commerce account. At the same time, you will be dependent on the hosting company to pay your commission, and it is important to make sure you choose a company with a good track record. If you are interested in running a full hosting company, it is important to realize that more costs will be involved. You will have to deal with running your own server, connections, and other issues.
Choosing a Small Business Web Hosting Provider
May 14, 2008
If you are looking to have a web presence for your small business you will need a web hosting provider to host your website. It does not make any difference whether you are an individual who wants to share their hobby with the world, or a large company requiring e-commerce applications to sell your goods online, either way you will need a web hosting provider to make your site available on the Internet.
Currently there are many thousands of web hosting providers out there all fighting for your business, this alone can make choosing a web hosting provider a confusing task. Below are a few aspects to consider that will hopefully relieve some of the confusion involved with choosing a web hosting provider.
The first aspect that you must determine is the type of website or websites you are planning to make available on the Internet. This will greatly influence your choice in web hosts, if you are going to have a website of less hundred pages and will not be hosting any multimedia content such as streaming videos, a standard entry level hosting plan will more than likely provide more than you will ever need. Entry level plans can be found for less than $5 per month, there are many companies covering this segment of the web hosting market.
A good option to consider for small business is shared web hosting, this type of web hosting is very affordable and can be found for less than $10 per month, most if not all shared web hosting providers these days offer good feature sets, as well as a generous amount of disk space and bandwidth. Features such as PHP and MySQL databases are the standard features offered by shared hosting providers running on Linux powered servers. The main thing to remember is not to sacrifice quality just to save a few dollars per month. Be sure to read reviews, check the hosting providers message boards if they have one for user feedback about a prospective host and arm yourself with as much information about a hosting provider before making your final decision.
Other considerations that need to be taken into account are bandwidth and disk space. Bandwidth is the amount of data transferred from your site, although it is almost impossible to calculate the amount of bandwidth your site will require you can make an educated guess by working out the average size of your websites pages, and then multiplying this size by the amount of page views you expect to see in a month.
It is crucial that you allow for more bandwidth than what your site will require, if at any point your site requires more bandwidth than your plan allows you run the risk of having your site shutdown by your web hosting provider to conserve bandwidth. Working out disk space usage is easier, this involves adding up the size of each page you will be uploading to your hosting space, if you will be using databases be sure to allow for this usage in your calculations.
In summary, find out as much information about a web hosting provider you are considering as possible, find out their good aspects, as well as their bad aspects, be sure to allow more bandwidth than your site will require, and more disk space than your site will require, also allow for any growth in the future, either by allowing for growth when choosing your plan initially, or choosing a provider that allows you to upgrade your web hosting plan easily.
